Am looking to buy a BX2230 and would like opinions on use of a 4ft Howse brush cutter behind it and a 36" JD Rototiller. Can it handle the weight and is the rear PTO speed sufficient? Thanks in advance for replies.

The PTO speed on the BX is a standard 540 RPM's .... and a four foot brush cutter is about the right size for a 20 horse tractor.

Both sound like sensible choices. ....

A BX2230 can run a 48" brush hog but will have trouble with anything thicker than grass. Which is why Landpride and woods make a 42" for the BX series and JD 2210. Its only a 6" but makes a heck of a difference. Plus the pins are reversable so the limited 3pt hitch can pick it up. I have a 42" landpride that just came off a BX2200. I have a 48" so i don't need this one. I got it with some other equipment as a package deal. See classifieds for more info. ....
